Grove Dictionary Of Art

Grove Art Online provides web access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art, ed. Jane Turner (1996, 34 vols.) and The Oxford Companion to Western Art, ed. Hugh Brigstocke (2001). We offer ongoing additions of new and updated articles, over 3,000 thumbnail art images and line drawings displayed in the text of articles, extensive image links, and sophisticated search and navigation tools.

Grove Dictionary of Music

The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, second edition, edited by Stanley Sadie and John Tyrell, was published simultaneously in print and online as Grove Music Online in January 2001. Grove Music Online began to develop independently immediately; regular revisions and additions to the content began in Spring of 2001 and continue today through an ambitious editorial programme. In addition to the regular programme of revisions and new articles, Grove Music Online has grown to include The New Grove Dictionary of Opera (published in print in 1992 and online in 1999) and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, second edition (2001). Through a partnership with Sibelius notation software, over 500 of Grove's musical examples are now available in sound as well as notated examples.

If you are getting ready to take the citizenship test, there is an online product called Life in the UK practice test to help you prepare to pass. It contains all the chapters from the Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents, 3rd Edition with practice mock tests and provides feedback on questions answered wrongly.

Theory Test Pro - prepare for your driving theory test

Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory test. It contains the official practice test question bank, hazard perception video clips and an online version of the Highway Code. All this material is licensed from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), the people who set the tests.

Access to Theory Test Pro is completely free for residents who call in to any of the Brent Libraries. Members of Brent Libraries can also access Theory Test Pro from outside the libraries using their library card number.

How to sign up for Theory Test Pro

When you first use Theory Test Pro, you will need to register with your name, email address and password. There is no charge for this. This information allows Theory Test Pro to save your test scores so you can follow your progress as you practice for the test.

You will need a valid email address to sign up for Theory Test Pro.

If you sign up from home or anywhere else outside of the library, you will also need a valid library barcode number, available on your library card.
